Detailed Introduction to the "Test Control" of OX/230
OX2/230 Oxygen Permeability Tester is featured for its powerful functions. The parameter setting is quite important before operation. Hereinafter, we would emphasize on the parameter setting order of the ‘Test Control’ function for your reference.
1. Select Testing Chamber
Turn on the software, and enter the test control interface when communication is ready. Click the testing chamber with mouse. After clicking the chamber, set testing and control parameters of the chamber correspondingly.
2. Set the Control Parameters
2.1 Testing Mode
Standard Mode: the default mode. Usually, we select Standard Mode to test. The test will automatically end in this mode after the pre-set cycling times have been achieved.
Proportion Mode: when the differentials of transmission quantity reach the pre-set proportion within the time interval, the test will end automatically.
Successive Mode: in this mode, the test will end with manual operation. Otherwise, the testing would go on without stop.
2.2 Testing
Cycling Times: the number of points for data collection when test ends in Standard Mode. Cycling time can be manually set. As to high barrier property materials, the cycling time should be no less than 5. Since inadequate times could not achieve transmission equilibrium, and would lead to errors. As to low barrier property materials, the cycling time can be less.
Testing Time: the time period for the gas transmitted into the testing chamber and collected by the sensor. Usually, different testing times are for different materials with different barrier properties: high barrier materials should be set above 60 minutes; medium and low barrier materials should be set within 30-60 minutes.
Testing Interval: in Proportion Mode, the time for data collection and calculation.
2.3 Repeated Zero
Cycling Interval: the testing times after a zero operation.
Purge Zero Time: the time for purge the sensor and choose the zero.
Effective: When repeated zero tests is necessary, choose ‘Effective’ and then set parameters.
2.4 Compensation
A setting to convert concentration result to 100%, when the gas concentration is not so.
3. Specimen Parameters
3.1 Pre-heating: as to initial testing or temperature change is needed, set the preheat time. As to successive testing, or stand-by, pre-heating can be 0.
3.2 Film/Package: this is a selection for the type of specimen. Wrong choice would lead to wrong testing results.
3.3 Area/Chamber: a setting for testing area. In normal tests, the default area is 50cm2. The actual testing area should be input if area changes are necessary.
3.4 Thickness: to set the specimen thickness, and is to be indicated in the report.
3.5 Specimen Source: to set the specimen source, such as manufacture and so on.
4. Chamber Parameters
4.1 Testing Methods: the standards or determination methods for the test, and would be indicated in the printed testing report.
4.2 Specimen Material: to input the specimen name for future references.
4.3 Test Number: to input corresponding lot number or other information for the specimen.
4.4 Individualized Zero Type: is the zero value when nitrogen is purged into both the upper and lower testing chambers. We usually don’t choose this type, except for ultra-high barrier property materials.
4.5 Individualized Zero Time: the set zero purge time when Individualized Zero Mode is selected
